Body Composition
Body composition is analyzed by measuring the ratio of your body’s fat mass to fat-free mass. This analysis is completed by assessing the thickness of subcutaneous fat at various locations on your body with a sum of the skin folds test. This process enables us to determine your percentage of fat to your percentage of lean muscle. When this percentage is determined, we can work with you to either increase or decrease your ratios accordingly, so that you optimize your power to weight ratio and, in the process, find a healthy fat to muscle balance and ideal body weight.
Resting Metabolic Rate
Your resting metabolic rate (RMR) is the rate at which your body burns energy or calories while at rest. In other words, it is the minimum number of calories your body needs to support its basic physiological functions such as breathing, circulating blood, and other biomechanical activities that keep you alive. In Off the Front’s physiology lab, we test you for your RMR to find out precisely what your daily basal caloric requirement is.
Your RMR assists us in helping you reach your health and weight loss goals. Depending on how much you train, ride your bike, or run, you should adjust your daily caloric intake. Monitoring your caloric volume helps us to help you lose those unwanted pounds, get lean, and perform at your very best.
Sports Nutrition

Weight Loss / Gain
Proper day-to-day eating habits are essential in order to maintain optimal health and top athletic performance. Making the right food choices not only fuels the athlete, but also enhances recovery. Compromised athletic performance results when an athlete fails to eat appropriately on a continuing basis.
Off the Front’s Registered Dietician will provide athletes with instruction and education on healthy eating habits and also tailor eating guidelines to sports-specific training, events, or competitions. One-on-one consultations will help the athlete maximize their performance and improve their overall health. Through an in-depth interview, the Dietician will investigate nutritional areas of concern and work with the athlete to create a nutrition plan that will fit their training schedules and the intensity of the workouts.
